back-to-back top 10 finishes at The Open for Bob MacIntyre

A 3-under par final round of 67 gave Bob MacIntyre back-to-back top 10 finishes at The Open Championship.

After having made the weekend right on the cut mark, Bob then shot a 5-under par 65 to give himself an outside chance of a first Major win. It was obvious that he had to attack on the final day, and although some early birdies gave him hope, a couple of dropped shots made the job more difficult.

This tie for 8th place, behind the Champion Golfer, Collin Morikawa, made him the second highest European (behind Jon Rahm), and will help Bob in his challenge for Ryder Cup selection later this year.

In addition to helping him move up the world rankings, Bob now heads to America tonight to compete in next week’s 3M Open in Minneapolis. He then has a week off before returning to America for the WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational in Memphis.
