Genesis Scottish Open triumph for Bob MacIntyre

Bob MacIntyre achieved another lifetime ambition with victory in the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in East Lothian.

Starting the last day 2 shots behind his Ryder Cup team-mate, Ludvig Aberg, Bob struggled to make any significant impact on the front nine, and as Australia’s Adam Scott opened up a 2 -shot lead over the field, Bob then made his move with a birdie on the 14th, and followed this up with an eagle on the 16th to draw level with Scott.

After a par on the 17th, Bob sank a 20 foot putt on the 18th hole to secure the title and his first Rolex Series win.

Following on from his victory at the RBC Canadian Open just over a month ago, Bob now moves up to 16th place on the FedEx Cup rankings, and to 3rd place on the DP World Tour’s Race to Dubai.

He also jumps up 28 places to number 16 on the OWGR world rankings.

Bob becomes only the second Scot to win the Genesis Scottish Open, following Colin Montgomerie in 1999.

Bob now heads straight to Royal Troon, where he hopes to continue his winning run a the 152nd Open Championship.
