Lorna McClymont joins Bounce Sport

Scotland's latest addition to the professional golf world, Lorna McClymont, is joining Edinburgh-based agency Bounce Sport.

Lorna made her professional debut at the start of this month at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco, where she made the cut and finished in a tie for 42nd place. This performance highlighted her undoubted talent and potential that she brings from her hugely successful amateur career.

Lorna is a prolific winner, who has claimed 10 amateur titles over the past two years. These victories included headline national titles across the UK, where she won the 2023 Irish Women’s Open Stoke Play Championship, the 2023 Welsh Women’s Open Stroke Play Championship and the 2024 Scottish Women’s Amateur Championship. Then, in 2024, she finished runner-up to American Melanie Green in the The Women’s Amateur Championship at Portmarnock.

These performances ensured her place in the 2024 Curtis Cup team, where she helped the GB&I team to their first victory in almost 10 years against the USA, and was a fitting culmination to her amateur career.

Lorna’s first test in the professional ranks came at the 2024 Ladies European Tour Qualifying School where she narrowly missed out on securing a full Tour card. However, her tie for 33rd place confirmed her confidence and belief that she was capable of competing with the best in the professional game.

Lorna is a graduate from the University of Stirling, where she was a major part of the University’s very successful high-performance golf programme, and she now looks to follow in the footsteps of fellow alumni Catriona Matthew and Louise Duncan.

Lorna said: “I am very excited to be taking this next step in my golf career, and I am really looking forward to be competing on the Ladies European Tour and Access Tour. I think that now is the right time for me to test myself in the professional ranks, and I am ready for the challenge.”

Lorna, who now joins the player roster at Bounce Sport which includes Robert MacIntyre, GrantForrest, Calum Hill, Stephen Gallacher, Marc Warren, Euan Walker and fellow LET professional, Louise Duncan, said: “I am delighted to join Bounce Sport and the other Scottish players they represent. All of these players made the successful transition from the amateur to the professional ranks, and I am determined to do everything I can to succeed in the professional game.”

Lorna has already secured the support of Callaway, Zenith Black, Arnold Clark, Kingsbarns and the Murray Sharp Foundation, and is grateful for this backing to help her with the challenges that the professional game will bring.

Iain Stoddart, Bounce Sport’s founding partner, is delighted that Lorna is joining Bounce Sport, and is looking forward to watching her progress over the coming years.

Iain Stoddart said: “Lorna is another very exciting talent in the Scottish women’s game, and her success as an amateur fits in superbly alongside all of the other players we work with. As always we are delighted to take up what we believe is a responsibility to help Lorna as she embarks on her professional career and to work with her as she looks to climb the ladder in world golf.”
