Stephen Gallacher has been reappointed as Junior Ryder Cup Captain for the 2025 match in New York.
Stephen, the Captain in Rome in 2023, led Europe to a record 20½-9½ win against the United States, and so it was no surprise today when it was confirmed that he would lead the team again in New York.

There is no doubt that Stephen’s experience, knowledge and advice played a significant part in helping the European team to their record 2023 win. With a professional career spanning almost 3 decades, and including 4 DP World Tour titles, Stephen will once more be a key figure in the Junior Ryder Cup locker room.
“I’m delighted to have been given the chance to once again lead Team Europe in the 2025 Junior Ryder Cup in New York,” said Gallacher. “It was fantastic to oversee Europe’s record victory in Rome last year and I was so proud of the team and what they managed to achieve.
“The team spirit was unbelievable, and it is an honour to be their Captain once again. I’m looking forward to working with the most exciting future talent in Europe and taking on the United States in New York.
“The Ryder Cup means so much to me, so to be the Junior Captain again and have the chance to create bonds with the 12 players, like we did in Italy, will be very special.
“Being a Captain away from home will be a tough task, but itis a challenge that motivates me, and I will do everything I can to make sure our 12-strong team will be ready to head to New York in 2025.”
The event will take place in New York from 23rd-25thSeptember, with the first two days of the Junior Ryder Cup being played at Nassau Country Club before the decisive singles matches are held at Bethpage Black, the Ryder Cup venue, on the eve of the 45th edition of the biennial contest between Europe and the United States.
This announcement, coming on the back of his recent inclusion in the King’s Birthday Honours List, where he was awarded an MBE, is further recognition of his commitment to the sport at every level. Whether competing on the DP World Tour, Captaining Europe’s top juniors or introducing boys and girls to the game through the Stephen Gallacher Foundation, Stephen is undoubtedly going to have a major impact on the continued growth and success of the European game.
